Hi! I am so glad you’ve stopped by. I hope you enjoy reading about my mindful approach to health & wellness. I believe health and wellness isn’t about your physique or what size clothes you wear. It incorporates your body, mind, & spirit. I will write about all the tools I have used in my own journey, which includes but not limited to:  nutrition, yoga, running, meditation, and mindfulness. I am passionate about all these modalities because they worked for me. I suffered for many years with anxiety, depression, various GI issues, autoimmune disorders, and it was when I started incorporating all of the tools I write about on my blog, through which I healed both internally, externally, and energetically.

I believe once we are content and feel at peace in the inside, the outside will reflect that inner calm. Everything falls into place. Nutrition, exercise, and emotional well-being. It will all come together. My articles and coaching are both a reflection of my real life experiences, both past & present. Please join me and let’s share in this journey together!  ♥  Brooke

FAQs About Me

I met my husband online at www.Cupid.com. It was 2005 when online dating was just starting. It still makes me chuckle to think how we met, but I love our story and wouldn’t have changed a thing.

I am a Registered Nurse. I am so passionate about helping those on their path to getting well, I decided to immerse myself in it. I want to work in role where I could have the greatest impact and feel nursing is where I could. I just finished school and passed boards this past spring. It was challenging to balance my family and school, but I am confident that it will be worth it. I know I am showing my boys that it’s never too late to follow your dream.

I am a sports junkie. I just love staying active. I was in competitive gymnastics and dance for 8 years. I also played volleyball, ran track and was a cheerleader in high school and college. Now days, I play tennis, run, and do yoga. I love to do anything that is active and can quite my busy mind!

I am a video game enthusiast. Playing video games with my boys is one of my most favorite things to do. Staying up late to play Splatoon on the WiiU is my guilty pleasure!

I was diagnosed with epilepsy in 1998 at the age of 18. I was diagnosed the first semester, the first year at college. It’s one of those things you never think will happen to you…then it does. Although, I still take medication daily, I am not defined the disease. I know I can do anything despite the diagnoses.

When I started running almost 20 years ago, I could barely run 1/4 mile. that summer I decided I was going to change. I started walk/running and slowly worked my way up to 2 miles straight running. 8 years later I ran my first 1/2 marathon. I never in my wildest dreams could I ever have imagined I would run a marathon…now I’ve run 5. Don’t ever underestimate what you’re capable of achieving! Believe it and you will achieve it!

Quitting smoking was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Yes, I consider it an accomplishment. I started at the age of 13 yrs and quit at the age of 26 yrs. Quitting for me was harder than running marathon. The cravings were there for over 2 yrs before they diminished. This year marks the 10 anniversary of my last cigarette. I am so thankful for that. If you smoke and want to quit, please know you CAN do it.
